I have been busy picking cherries, working and getting ready for when the boys are on summer holidays this year I have some great ideas for them including go-carts, zip lines, night fishing, a lot of swimming,camping,bar-b-Que cooking ,seaside, water slides& ice cream making.
I am looking forward to spending time with them and I hope I will be saying that at the end of the holidays
This past week it has been really hot Summer has arrived and most of my vegetable garden is destroyed from the heat I have to re think
whether it is worth doing a summer garden.

A day out with some very big kids

OK not really but it was a school bus.

All aboard next stop Kafr Cana
It was in Cana that Jesus performed His first miracle, changing water into wine at a wedding where He, His mother and His disciples were guests (John 2). "This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory, and his disciples believed on him" (John 2:11).

We were shown around a few Holy sites and a few Churches
This is the Franciscan church also known as the wedding church

It was a HOT day and everyone was trying to find some shade.

 St Georges Church Greek orthodox

Cana-Chapel of St. Bartholomew

One way or the other, in the Roman-Byzantine period (1,000-2,000 years ago), there was a large Jewish community here, but apparently by the Mameluke period (about 800 years ago) most of the residents of Kafr Cana were Christian, although there was still a Jewish community here, too. Today most of the residents of Kafr Cana are Muslim.

In the center of the village are a few remains of ancient buildings and burial caves. The villagers have built new houses to the southeast and northeast of the ancient village. The most important site in the village is the Catholic Church, built in 1879, on the traditional site of the miracle of the wine. Beside this church is the Greek Orthodox church of St. George, built in 1886, which house two stone jars that Greek Orthodox followers believe are the jars in which Jesus performed the miracle of the wine.
